Christian Atsu Trapped Under Rubble After Earthquake

Concerns are mounting regarding Christian Atsu, who is purported to be trapped under a heap of rubble after a massive earthquake hit Turkey where he currently plays. The Ghana Black Stars player and former star for Chelsea and Newcastle is thought to have been trapped along with his team’s Sporting Director Taner Savut. The duo are being thoroughly searched for by a rescue team.
The sad incident occurred a day after the winger’s team Hatayspor gained a 1-0 victory over Kasimpasa, in which Atsu scored an incredible late winner. As things stand now, all sporting events in Turkey have been cancelled.
Neighboring Syria was also shaken by an earthquake that claimed more than 1,000 lives. Residents on both sides of the border hurried outside on a chilly, wet, and snowy night after being startled out of their sleep by the early morning earthquake. The massive earthquakes levelled several buildings to the ground.
