Frank, hailing from an underprivileged background, astounded people globally with his ability to create functional construction machinery from unconventional materials like wood, condemned batteries, and drip sets.

Frank Hope: A Young Genius from Akwa Ibom

Frank Hope is not your average teenager. Born and raised in Akwa Ibom, Nigeria, his fascination with construction machinery began at a young age.

His hometown, like many others in Nigeria, lacks access to modern construction equipment. Frank’s ingenuity was born out of necessity and a strong desire to bridge this gap.

Frank’s Journey into Building Construction Machinery

When Frank laid eyes on an excavator for the first time, he was captivated by its sheer size and capabilities. However, unlike most people who would simply admire it from a distance, Frank was determined to replicate it.

He started making plans on how to design the excavator. He assembled wood cardboard and other materials to design his excavator. Nevertheless, he faced a significant challenge of how to make the excavator move. 

Frank Finds A Solution To His Challenge 

Frank’s determination led him to an ingenious solution. He replaced the traditional hydraulic hose with syringes, a resourceful choice that allowed him to bring his wooden excavator to life.

This creative adaptation marked the beginning of Frank’s journey into creating functional construction machinery.

Other Construction Machines Built By Frank

Frank didn’t stop with the excavator. He went on to create a functional tipper truck, complete with a remote control system powered by old laptop batteries.

His ability to engineer practical solutions from everyday materials showcases his remarkable talent and determination.

Frank’s Inspirations and Aspirations

In an interview with the BBC, Frank shared his aspirations. He dreams of being recognised alongside renowned inventors like Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Graham Bell, the Wright brothers, and Thomas Edison.
